Whited Sepulchre Mike O’Neal Spits Racism and a Death Wish at the Obamas — Just Like Jesus Would Do

Kansas House Speaker Mike O’Neal

You can just hear Jesus speaking, in the words of House Speaker Mike O’Neal, in an email sent before Christmas: “Kansas House Speaker Mike O’Neal, from the city of Hutchison, sent an email before Christmas that compared the president’s wife to the Dr. Seuss character The Grinch, with a tagline asking: ‘Twins separated at birth?'” (Found at the Rockford Register Star, in a column by Pat Cunningham.)

And then the Christian and virtuous Mr. O’Neal added, ““I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing Mrs. YoMama a wonderful, long Hawaii Christmas vacation — at our expense, of course.”

Yes, I’m sure that Jesus would be sure to use racist terminology about this woman, because of course he wasn’t crazy about black people, and especially not uppity female ones. And looking at Mrs. Obama’s motherhood and care for her children, Jesus would naturally consider her a Grinch. Because that’s exactly how he thought about women, and about those who tried to help the poor. Dirty pinko liberal commies, you know. Jesus just hated those.

Funny, though. I seem to remember most of his vitriol being directed at self-satisfied, self-righteous, judgemental, religious and political establishment males. Who — coincidentally, I’m sure — bore a striking resemblance to Mike O’Neal. But O’Neal is tight with the Big Guy. Tight. So he must be an exception. Right.

And then there’s that Christlike Bible verse O’Neal chose, for people to pray to God and apply to President Obama: “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.” (Psalm 109:8) Which, although it’s stuck right in the middle of an imprecation begging God to let this person’s days be few because God kills him and leaves his wife a widow and his children fatherless — isn’t referring to that at all in O’Neal’s case.

O’Neal’s words have totally been taken out of context. Totally. Because the actual, real live context of that Bible verse is sheer coincidence. That’s all — just a coincidence. O’Neal never even read the verses that surrounded his quotation. Didn’t even know they were there. Right?

Riiiiiight.

You can just see Jesus acting through every thought, word, and deed in Mike O’Neal’s life.

NOT.

(Funny how it’s supposed to be Democrats and Progressives who are all about the Death Panels and stuff, but it seems always to be the right-wingnut Republicans and Religious Right preachers who keep praying for God to murder Democrats.)

I’d sure like some rock-ribbed Bible scholar to nail down for me the *exact* passage wherein Jesus instructs his flock in the use of imprecatory prayer. (It’s probably right where they insist it’s shown that gay love makes the Baby Jesus cry.)

Assholes like O’Neal are one of the big reasons I burned out early on dealing with news stories from state legislatures! Guys like him are high up on my list of why people ask What’s the Matter With Kansas (or virtually any other U.S. state). In a just society such folk would be required, as corrective penalty for their failings, to be treated exactly as they have treated the people they’ve abused — and for twice as long, which seems only meet!

Rest assured this crowd will be in MY prayers … but they sure don’t want to know just what I’m praying they’ll receive.

I think you could find some pretty juicy stuff in the Psalms. They aren’t all sweetness and light, as O’Neal himself demonstrates here.

Doubtless true, but IIRC Jesus didn’t cite such stuff much if at all in his teachings. (Or maybe I’ve missed something — my own Biblical scholarship is mighty sketchy, hee!)

Christian neoCons, whenever, they want to stomp someone, always resort to the Old Testament first. They’re got a great, stompy, genocidal deity there, who will provide them with all the vitriol and hatred they need.
