Mike Adams: A Christian Who Wants to BE Caesar

July 16, 2010

Remember when that Jesus guy said this?

Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s. – Matt. 22:21

He was talking about fulfilling your obligations to a secular state (i.e. Caesar), which means obeying the laws of the land, while in your religious life, you obey God.

But “Christian” Mike Adams, of, knows better than Jesus. No obeying the laws of the land for him, by God. He doesn’t agree with the Supreme Court, that if the law requires clubs at a university to allow all students to participate — rather than requiring them to sign a bloody statement of faith before they’re allowed in (though why they’d want in, under those circumstances, is beyond me) — then that club shouldn’t be allowed official status at the university. Laws of the land: democracy, with “all men created equal,” and all that.

But nope. Since Mike Adams and his crowd are not allowed to flout the laws, they are going to try to ruin every other club on their campus by infiltrating them with people hostile to all their beliefs.

That’ll show ’em. That will make everyone want to embrace their loving, godly faith, all right. And it sure sounds like the sort of action Jesus recommends, yessirreebob. Or wait —

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;   That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. – Matt. 5:43-45

But what did Jesus know anyway. He has virtually nothing to do with how these strident, hateful, vengeful, power-hungry so-called “Christians” believe or behave in this world.

I mean, why should they listen to him? He’s nobody. With all his talk of turning the other cheek, showing mercy to those who disagree with you, and winning people with kindness and love instead of hateful vengeance — Jesus was probably gay. So they get to hate him too, and be very happy.
